Guided Reading Follow Up Sessions:
"Practically Speaking... Seeing Guided Reading in Action!"
Teachers say this powerful session really makes Guided Reading seem doable!
This classroom demonstration component is a follow up to the 'Guided Reading Implementation' session(s). Small groups of teachers have a chance to see all the Guided Reading instruction they have heard put into action with their children!  They will plan a Guided Reading lesson together. Special attention will be paid to planning the questioning. Then Kathie will use this plan with their children. After the Guided Reading demonstration lesson, teachers will have an opportunity to debrief:
- to discuss their observations
- to ask questions
- and to plan a follow up lesson.
Kathie can also coach and demonstrate how to match children to the appropriate instructional levels of materials using an Informal Teacher Observation.
