Sing Me a Story, Read Me A Song
This creative one-of-a-kind workshop is packed with ideas for using favorite children's songs to teach students how to read and also reinforce necessary skills. Developmentally appropriate for ALL children, integrating music into the language arts curriculum gives all children reading successes they can sing about!!
In the morning, teachers can join the fun in a high-energy session that is bursting with traditional, holiday, and get-up-and-move songs. Kathie will demonstrate ways to turn most-loved children's songs into Big Books, mini-books, and class books that come in all sizes and shapes: bus books, bed books, boa constrictor books, and lots more.
In the afternoon, teachers will have an opportunity to create and complete their own choices of Big Books and mini-books. Patterns and directions will be around the room so that teachers can leave with books they can use in their classrooms immediately!
This session is perfect for teachers of K, Prefirst, First, Special Ed., Title 1, and English As Second Language learners!!
